I don't understand the appeal of 5G. An overcooked lump of grey meat... who can tell if the meat is any good when you cook the heck out of it? I can think of only one reason they do so: their legal team said that's the best way.

Good steakhouses sneer at customers who order their steaks well-done, because they know it ruins the meat. Same is true for burgers. And Five Guys.

If you prefer a customized meal for Dad, you can always get him a gift certificate from Long Island's leading personal chef service Home Cooking Consultant. Chef Lia can help you design the perfect culinary gift - a special occasion dinner or private cooking classes.

Uhh. I got to say I love these burgers. I am still a huge fan of All American because it is uniquely a Long Island landmark, But Five Guys is the best chain hamburger place.

What does every one else think?

Yes I have eaten at Daisy May's. It's not the newest or cleanest place but it is certainly one of the best. I don't care for bbq sauce so I enjoy going there as they don't smother it with sugar before serving it.

hah, i drove 5 hours in the middle of the night once after watching harold and kumar to get white castle. about 3am, i'm 200+ miles from home, two states away, wondering if they're open 24 hours. Luckly they were and we ordered 90 burgers. They were so good we came back next week to order 120 more. A trip later that summer had us buying over 300.

Thanks for the comments. Iron Chef Japan is great, I love it. Its truer to the art form of cooking. Iron Chef America is more of a TV show Format where to man executives have there hands in things. It can be really entertaining some time though. Food network in general seems to be turning more into a market driven network looking appeal to the demo graphics. All the serious hard core shows are gone. I used to love Mario Batali making some crazy rustic dish from a region in Italy the size of one city block. Some of the shows on t there just suck and need to go. Unwrapped, Semi Home Made with Sandra Lee. Its not even entertaining.

If you have any recommendations of great food shows or other networks to check out please let us know, Im always interested.

This is a link to the Iron Chef America DVD which, in my opinion, should never have been made, or a least, never been named Iron Chef anything--I would love to see Iron Chef on DVD, but the ORIGINAL Japanese version, not this monstrosity.
